Mama-Fit Club for Women is from 9 to 10 a.m. every Wednesday. Join this fun video workout for all levels of fitness, whether preparing the body for pregnancy or trying to get it back afterward. Keiki are welcome to play during the session. The class is open to all women, with or without children. Wear comfortable clothes and exercise shoes. Bring water, a towel, yoga mat and light weights or resistance bands if available.
Caregiving Conversations will be from 11 a.m. to noon on Sept. 7 with Karen Clay, a professional caregiver since 1995 with a BA in gerontology. Whether a caregiver by heart, hire or relationship, join fellow caregivers in sharing stories, support and inspiration. This program meets on the 1st Wednesday of each month.
Parkinson’s Wellness Support will be offered from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 7. Individuals with Parkinson’s and other neurological challenges, along with their partners or caregivers, are encouraged to attend this session that is open to all ability levels. The support group continues to grow and remains open to regular and new participants. The focus is on community and conversation. Come dressed comfortably and ready to enjoy a group class to strengthen mind, body and spirit.
You Make Sense to Me will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 7, led by Amy Elizabeth and Marc Gordon, each with an MA in Contemplative Psychotherapy. In this continuing communications skills series, learn about Imago Dialogue techniques and tools to improve connections with loved ones, help soften in tight situations and lower negative reactivity. The group will explore how to make relationships more meaningful, safe and satisfying. Attendees are invited to join the group whether or not they have attended previous sessions.
Breast Feeding Support will be offered from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Sept. 8, facilitated by Shanel and Aimée. Breastfeeding and expectant mothers are encouraged to attend this monthly meet-up for mother-to-mother support. Meetings are topical discussion format and keiki-friendly. The group intention is to support, encourage, share information, education and experience to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of babies, moms and families.
Financial Health &Wellness will be from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 9 with Teri Shaules, financial professional. The discussion will focus on how to protect family from unforeseen events, growing money and spending what has been accumulated in working years. The group will also discuss ideas regarding grandchildren’s savings strategies.
Family Science Night at Earl’s Garage returns from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Sept. 9 with Katherine DuBose. This is a great opportunity for family members of all ages to work together and spend time exploring hands-on activities. Everything is provided, including food and supplies.
